Hendel & Collins

A Professional Corporation

Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Commercial Attorneys

Hendel & Collins, P.C. was founded in 1982 by Philip J. Hendel and Joseph B. Collins who left a multi-disciplined Springfield, Massachusetts law firm to form a small boutique firm specializing in commercial, bankruptcy and other insolvency matters.  Its client base derives primarily from referrals from other law firms, accountants, turnaround specialists and business entities, which desire assistance with problems involving the bankruptcy process as well as out of court reorganization and liquidation.

Over the past 28 years, the firm has acquired a reputation in the legal community for integrity and quality representation.  As Chapter 11 has become an expensive and time-consuming process for small businesses, the firm has developed a unique ability to find alternatives for resolving financial problems, which are less expensive and far less time consuming.  Today, the firm represents businesses and individuals in connection with a wide range of insolvency and bankruptcy matters, including individual Chapter 7 cases.  It is also involved in many other commercial issues.  The firm’s clients include debtors, creditors, lenders, parties interested in acquiring assets from bankruptcy estates, trustees, creditors committees, and assignees for the benefit of creditors.  In addition to bankruptcy and insolvency matters, our attorneys have a broad knowledge of other issues that may be involved in the bankruptcy context, such as taxation, intellectual property, cross-border matters, real estate, and commercial finance.
